AntiGravity® Fitness Teacher Trainings with Tamer Begum at The Yoga Room

The Yoga Room is pleased to announce the installment of AntiGravity® Fitness as our latest program to provide a high quality space for all aerial enthusiasts to build on their existing practice, be inspired by new programs, and learn from the originators of the genre!

Join us as Tamer Begum holds workshops, teacher trainings, and events in our newly equipped 3/F studio!


All AntiGravity® Fitness courses are recognised by Yoga Alliance, AFFA, ACE and CYQ. Upon completion of this course, assignments, online and practical examinations, students will be awarded a certificate to teach group classes. Each training day is an 8 hour day. If you are an RYT-200, AntiGravity® Fitness Continued Education Courses qualify as Continuing Education Contact Hours.

Students are advised to wear a comfortable T-shirt that covers the shoulders for hygiene and comfort. Please arrive 15 minutes before training starts for check in, adjustments, and meet and greet. All course materials will be distributed on Day 1. Please bring something to write with for taking notes.

*Contraindications to inversions include: High blood pressure, recent surgeries, glaucoma or pregnant ladies.

The Yoga Room 3/F Studio

An AntiGravity® Fundamentals 1 & 2 teacher training course will guide you through the fundamentals of teaching AntiGravity® Fitness, including the history, philosophy and methodology behind the technique created by Christopher Harrison. Fundamentals 1 & 2 are the foundation for all AntiGravity® Aerial Fitness courses.

In this 4-day course, you will learn everything you need to instruct a safe and fun Fundamentals class on the Harrison AntiGravity® Hammock. This course will open the doors for you to continue your education in either AntiGravity® Aerial Yoga, or AntiGravity® Suspension Fitness as well as any of our Secondary courses. Students who wish to advance to higher professional standards should not miss this course.


Fundamentals 1: Day 1 and 2 learn the History, Principles, Philosophies, Origins of the genre, and the Decompression Session methodology including drills, progressions, spotting and Harrison AntiGravity® Hammock rigging safety. 

Fundamentals 2: Day 3 and 4 progress to new curriculum, new grips, wraps, traps, and continue discovering how to move in new directions of space on the Harrison AntiGravity® Hammock with additional progressions for mobility, strength, flexibility, and agility. 


Prerequisite: We do not require any specific certification. You should have a good understanding of the body and be comfortable teaching in front of a class. Flexibility, coordination, core strength are a plus.

As an award-winning Broadway Aerial Choreographer who brought the aerial arts to Broadway, Christopher Harrison is proud to announce AntiGravity® AIRbarre.  This extensive Aerial Dance Conditioning program is, the newest Aerial Fitness technique to come out of AntiGravity Fitness, Originators of the Suspension Fitness and Aerial Yoga genres.  Harrison was assisted in the creation of this exciting new program by Certified AntiGravity Master Instructor Trainer, Lorianne Major.


Dance develops ideal bodylines through the toning and lengthening of muscles, while also developing balance and agility.  Recently, new methods of ballet barre training have found their way into fitness studios as participants notice the many benefits of training physical grace. AntiGravity’s version, AIRbarre, challenges the body and mind beyond the vertical plane and up into the air!


“Dance classes always start at the barre with pliés.  As a disciplined Broadway dancer and guest artist with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet for numerous years, this classical form of training has been deeply engrained into my psyche.  Transferring much of the movements to a silk hammock that allows for 3d movement on multiple planes has been thrilling. Tamer has been teaching AntiGravity Techniques since 2009. As a Master Instructor Trainer, he has accumulated over 5000 hours of teaching experience, and has certified more than 200 instructors. Tamer’s primary focus for the last 4 years has been leading workshops, events, and trainings in Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Philippines, and Egypt.

Having worked with some of the most respected pioneers in the Fitness, Yoga, and MMA industries, Tamer is excited to share with you his passion for movement and the healing arts. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Public Health from Westminster College, and is certified in Thai Massage from International Thai Massage School. Tamer is also proud to be Christopher Harrison’s nephew and has studied under his direct guidance in New York since 2012.
