Intensive Yoga Asana – Hip Openers & Restorative with David Kim
August 25 @ 8:30 am - August 27 @ 10:30 am
Sunday 25 August:
8:30-11:00am Asana Practice: Hip Openers & Arm Balances
. Does your crow fly? Arm balances are a wonderful way to integrate a sense of challenge and play in your asana practice. Like inversions, they help us develop courage, build upper body strength, and teach us the philosophical lesson of letting go and learning to fall. This practice will focus on postures with an externally rotated hip joint (“hip openers”) and explore different variations and stages of balancing on our arms.
Tuesday 27 August:
8:30-10:30am Asana Practice: Yin Yoga & Restoratives
. Yin yoga is a profoundly quieting and centering practice that involves longer postural holds (usually more than 2 minutes) with mostly passive muscular effort. The postures intentionally exert gentle stimulus on the joint tissues, via gravity and bodyweight, and influence our connective-tissue network in a different way than dynamic, repetitive forms of exercise. Both Yin and Restoratives tap into our parasympathetic nervous system, thereby promoting the body’s own ability to rest, digest, and ultimately, heal.
Price: $700 per workshop per day
Venue: The Yoga Room 4/F Studio
