YOGA HOW TO WORKSHOP (PART 1) By VICTOR CHAU

Yoga How-to Part 1 - A Workshop Series for Everyone by Victor Chau

Date: May 11 2025 (Sun)
Venue: The Yoga Room

Part 1 - Yoga: How To Do

Should I keep my legs straight? Or should I put more weight on my head? What should I do if I can’t touch my toes?

You hear yoga teachers often say: keep the legs straight, open your heart or follow proper alignment. On the other hand, there are numerous photos and videos on social media showing you how to do a yoga pose. Back in a yoga class, the teacher is often too busy teaching a class of 15+ students, or the instructions went by so fast that you could not follow.

What should you do?

There is no one-pose- or one-alignment-fits-all solution in yoga. If you want to learn how to modify some yoga poses that will suit your personal needs, then this is the workshop for you. Experienced yoga teacher and teacher trainer Victor Chau (@victorchauyoga) will guide you in this workshop, explaining what muscles need to be engaged and stretched - and how to do that - in some of the key and most common yoga poses you will encounter in your yoga practice. You will learn how to modify the poses, either by changing the shape of your body, or by using props.

This workshop is suitable for beginning and intermediate yoga practitioners, as well as new yoga teachers who wish to deepen their understanding of physiological and energetic aspects of these yoga poses:
